A rare sighting
This Kookaburra was spotted and photographed in the eastern states of Australia then posted on a bird group on Facebook. The photographer was accused of photoshopping the picture and was quite upset by this. I loved the photo and was certain that nothing had been photoshopped as that was quite frankly a ridiculous suggestion and quite mean spirited. I asked if I could draw the bird as I thought it was fascinating and I think that made the person feel better. The resulting artwork sold very quickly to a Perth collector. A Kookaburra with a similar mutation has been sighted in Western Australia and also a pure white version. Very rare but not unheard of.
